Dennis Martin founded the Herrmann Institute in 1990 at the personal request of Ned
Herrmann, creator of the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) and the
whole brain model. We have a small core team based in Yorkshire, a group of
Associates and an extensive network of resources which enable us to offer a
comprehensive service to our customers. |

what do we do? |
We help people to think differently: about themselves; about their relationships with
others; about their potential; about their performance. We help people to understand
how they think and how this affects everything they do.
We use the HBDI to measure
and express people’s unique thinking preferences.
We help people to help themselves, value diversity and “think out of the box”. We help
organisations, teams and individuals to make full use of their whole brain to achieve
high performance in all that they do.
In particular, we work in areas of organisational change and development;
teamworking; creativity; teaching and learning; communications; feedback and
appraisal processes; motivation; mentoring; coaching and leadership.
 |
how do we do it? |
We work with our customers in a collaborative and inclusive way. Our approach is
based on the following four stage process:
- diagnosis (of needs, receptivity, motivation and learning methods)
- design (including whole brain learning methods and fun)
- delivery (of the design to achieve diagnosed needs)
- follow-up (to close the loop and evaluate results)
Our training and HBDI scoring services may be arranged in any one of three ways:
- in-company, tailor-made design for specific organisations
- open workshops for participants from a range of companies
- collaboration with a company’s own resources (ie consultancy, facilitator,
catalyst role)
